ಮೈಸೂರು ದಸರಾ: ವೈಭವದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆ
ಮೈಸೂರು ದಸರಾ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ಹಾಗೂ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಉತ್ಸವಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರ ಪರಂಪರೆಯು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಸಾಮ್ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಾಲದವರೆಗೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಂತರ ಮೈಸೂರು ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಅರಸರು ಈ ಉತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿದರು. 1610ರಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ ಒಡೆಯರ್ ಪ್ರಥಮರು ಶ್ರೀರಂಗಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ದಸರಾ ಆಚರಿಸಿದರು.
ನಾಡಹಬ್ಬ ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವ ಮೈಸೂರು ದಸರಾ, ಮಹಿಷಾಸುರನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಾಯಿ ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿ ದೇವಿಯ ವಿಜಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಮರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಾಲಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಈ ಉತ್ಸವವು ಕಲೆ, ಸಂಗೀತ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಬಿಂಬಿಸುವ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದಿದೆ.
